North West, 12, unveils new look with face piercings after Kim Kardashian spoke out about her ‘tattoos’

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter North has debuted another new bold look on social media

12-year-old North West has seemingly debuted a new facial piercing on the bridge of her nose.

North, the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, seems to be taking an interest in fashion like her parents and has shown off some very outlandish looks of late – which not everybody’s been a fan of.

A couple of weeks ago, North showed off some diamond, shark-like grills on social media which some speculated could have cost as much as $50,000.

Then in November, the young girl appeared online with face tattoos, which were quite clearly fake as you have to be at least 18 years of age to have a tattoo in California.

What didn’t appear to be fake, however, was North’s piercing on her finger. A lot of people expressed concerns about the dermal piercing but whoever runs the Kim and North TikTok page commented that ‘it’s okay’.

Now, North appears to have debuted a facial piercing on the bridge of her nose. She also showed off black teeth (presumably another set of grills) and blue bangs to go with her bright hair.

Some people commented ‘Kanye was right’ on the clip in regards to the rapper’s previous comments about the 12-year-old having social media.

Per a source who spoke to Radar Online in early December, Kanye’s wife Bianca Censori is reportedly trying to mediate the situation between the ‘MONSTER’ hitmaker and his eldest daughter.

“Bianca’s been following the situation closely because she’s fond of North and wants to be there for her,” the insider alleged. “She’s reassuring Kanye there’s nothing to worry about, the face tattoos are only fakes, and this is a simple case of a young kid expressing herself.”

Supposedly, Kanye fears that North is ‘acting up’.

While North’s finger tattoo was very much real, it’s likely that the bridge one is fake. Stick-on dermal piercings are widely available online.

There’s been so speculation that North has now removed the finger piercing in light of the backlash.

One doctor who spoke to UNILAD discussed the body modification and branded it as ‘risky’.

Dr Donald Grant, GP and Senior Clinical Advisor at The Independent Pharmacy, told us: “Dermal piercings, particularly those placed on the finger, carry risks that can easily be underestimated or attributed to more familiar concerns.”

He explained that people can miss the ‘early signs of irritation or rejection’ and believe it is ‘nothing more than dry skin, a healing delay, or a minor knock to the area’.

“These symptoms may also be mistaken for an allergic reaction to jewellery, simple overuse of the hands, or mild contact dermatitis,” Dr Grant further warned.

Kim Kardashian issued a blunt five-word response following the controversy over her daughter North West’s appearance – which featured imitation face tattoos and piercings.

The 12-year-old appeared in several TikTok clips over the weekend on the account she shares with her famous mom, sporting faux tattoos, blue contacts, and a septum-style piercing.

The schoolgirl’s friends joined in on the fun too, rocking matching braided hairstyles, colourful extensions, and bold accessories.

Her TikTok showed off dramatic lashes, silver jewellery, grillz, and scripture-style designs under her eyes. She also wore an oversized black T-shirt and sneakers to complete the edgy look.

Captioning her post: “Fake piercings and fake tatts 4 life.”

But not everyone was impressed, as the internet quickly flooded with comments from people saying North – the eldest of Kim’s four children with ex-husband Kanye West – was ‘too young’ for such a look.

“She’s 12 years old by the way,” one user wrote in the comments.

Another added: “How about go be a kid.”

While she was styling a more rougher look than you’d imagine a kid her age would, she sported it on the weekend before Halloween – when you’re likely to see children don nightmarish fits… so is it really that bad?

Kim doesn’t think, as she shut down the outrage in just five words.

The SKIMS founder responded under a TikTok clip shared by Daily Mail Australia, writing: “This is such a non-issue.”

That simple reply – which was accompanied with a crying emoji – instantly went viral, and perfectly summed up the billionaire’s stance on her daughter’s creative expression.

The move came just weeks after fans criticised Kim for letting North wear a dermal piercing during a trip to Rome – something the reality star later admitted was a learning moment.

Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast earlier this month, Kim opened up about parenting a preteen in the public eye.

“I’m like, okay, we’re never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” she said. “As a mom, you’re kind of like learning at the same time.”

While also praised her daughter’s confidence and creativity, adding: “She’s really mature in one sense where she’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care that they don’t like… my blue hair or this or that.

“She’s really confident.”

As a parent myself, I can vouch for just how hard parenting it – let alone on full display of the entire world… although that’s kind of the Kardashian family business.

Kim Kardashian has sharp 2-word reply after North West, 12, shocks people with unusual piercing

The daughter of the reality star shared an update on an unusual new piercing

Kim Kardashian has had a brusque reply to criticism of her daughter getting an unusual piercing.

Piercings of different kinds are becoming more popular, with people getting in a whole variety of places on their body. It’s not just ears, but nose piercings and septum piercings are more widespread, as well as lips or eyebrows.

But Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West, 12, has seen some controversy after getting a piercing in a more unusual place than ears or even her nose.

However despite some fans sharing that they have been left horrified by the piercing, the reality had a short, two-word reply.

In a video on TikTok, one fan shared how the new piercing was ‘breaking my heart’ after she saw it for the first time.

North West has her piercing on her finger, with a bar going through the skin just below the knuckle on her middle finger with a small silver ball on each end.

This is known as a ‘dermal piercing’ – a small piercing which is secured underneath the skin and which could theoretically be put on any part of the body.

According to Healthline, dermals carry a ‘high risk of complications’, including infection, scarring, displacement, rejection, tissue damage, and hypergranulation.

In the video, which has been viewed more than 694,000 times, the TikToker captioned it: “north west getting a finger piercing is breaking my heart, just me?”

There were plenty of people in the comments who seemed to agree with her.

One wrote how this was very different to just getting an ear piercing, commenting: “i get ear piercings but this is actually crazy.”

Another worried how this decision might impact on North in the future.

“Everyone saying why – she’s literally 12 lol she’s a child and that’s a pretty permanent decision.”

In an unusual development the TikTok account for Kim and North actually responded to the video with a simple two-word reply, in an apparent effort to put an end to the controversy.

They said simply: “it’s okay.”

Others who were commenting on the video were also defending the piercing, as well as Kim Kardashian allowing her daughter to get such an unusual piercing.

“She wanted the peircing [sic] and Kim let her pls stop Kim’s just trying to let her kids expresss [sic] themselves,” wrote one.

Another even accused people of being ‘jealous’ because their parents wouldn’t let them get piercings.

“It’s such a non-issue,” they wrote. “I’m starting to think ya’ll are just jealous your parents made you wait before getting piercings. Lol like literally what’s the problem.”

Resurfaced footage shows Kanye West trying to stop ex-wife Kim Kardashian from wearing ‘sexy’ clothing publicly

Kanye West’s reaction to Kim Kardashian’s outfit contrasts greatly to the support he’s shown Bianca Censori

A clip of Kanye West talking about Kim Kardashian’s ‘underwear’ look being ‘too sexy’ and ‘affecting’ his ‘soul’ has resurfaced in light of his support for Bianca Censori’s stripped back Grammys look.

The 67th edition of the Grammys took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 3 and West – who now goes by Ye – and wife Bianca Censori took to the red carpet with Censori wearing a mesh sheer skin-tight slip-on with no underwear.

Censori’s outfit faced backlash online and Ye spoke out in support of his wife wearing it – a far cry from his reaction when ex-wife Kim Kardashian wore a revealing look to the Met Gala in 2019.

Taking to Twitter, Ye stuck up for Censori’s look, stating: “My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world. I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night. Thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot.

“She took a break from shooting her first film to make a movie in real life. We tailored that invisible dress six times. And just like magic poof, we disappeared.

“Thank you to all the outlets who recognized us and gave us back the energy we put in.”

Ye’s backing of Censori’s outfit starkly contrasts to his reaction to when Kardashian took to the red carpet at 2019’s Met Gala wearing a corset stye Thierry Mugler dress.

In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians shot the night before the event, the rapper condemned the Kardashian’s corset as ‘a form of underwear’ and being ‘hot’ but questioning: “Hot for who?”

He said: “The corset, the underwear, all that vibe, I just feel like. I just went through this transition where from being a rapper, looking at all these girls…looking at my wife – [thinking] ‘My girls needs to be just like all the other girls and showing her body off showing this showing that.’

“I didn’t realise that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and loved and the father – now of about to be four kids,” Ye said. “The corset, it’s a form of underwear – it’s hot but hot for who?”

He added the following day: “You are my wife and it affects me when pictures are too sexy.”

Kardashian responded: “You built me up to be this person who’s confident and sexy, and just because you’re on a journey doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you.”

So, according to Ye, not only does it impact men’s ‘souls’ what women wear but apparently there’s also a difference in how women should dress when they’re a wife compared to when they’re a wife and mother.

UNILAD has contacted Ye’s representatives for comment.
